Alphabet Soup Epilogue

by ALC Punk!

"Well, we did it." Jean announced, looking happy.

"We sure did!" Jubilee replied, her hands twitching restlessly, thumbs twiddling.

"We talked about all the letters--" Betsy chirped, her lips twitching.

Warren interrupted, sarcastically, "From A-to-Z."

"Now we all know the alphabet," Nate Grey said softly.

"The what?"

"The alphabet," Jean said impatiently, glaring at Logan.

He smiled and adjusted his cigar, "What's the alphabet?"

Everyone groaned, Kitty and Jubilee rolling their eyes.

"OK, turn the record over," Scott instructed.

"Hey, if they turn the record over--won't we all fall off?" Pete demanded sardonically.

A beat.

Valerie Cooper looked at them. They looked back. "Um... We got a lot of money for this, guys. Guys? Oh, shit."

Valerie Cooper's people found her in a rather strange state. She'd been shoved into a trash can, wearing a feathered jacket and bloomers. She never did explain to them why. Nor did she explain the weekly expenditures to a certain offshore account.

In other parts of the US, several heros were in therapy.

"What's a record?"

"Hush, Jubilee, it's in the script."

Epilogue to the epilogue.

Scene: two workers sit, bored, as they take their hourly smoke break.

"Did you hear about that wierd record?"

"You mean the one that some group of people recorded, claiming to be the X-Men and such?"

"Yeah."

"Yeah, I did."

"*pffft* So, ya think it was them?"

"Nahhh.. They would have got paid for it, then."

"True. Hey, what did ya think about that Blues game last night?"

"It sucked."
